About The Position

The Well Tester is essential to providing accurate Gas Volumes, Water Gas Ratios (WGR), and Oil Gas Ratios (OGR) for 3-Phase Measurement Systems. The Well Test Technician is part of a team that is responsible and accountable for Well Test operations and activities that includes inspecting, reporting, and maintaining equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • A good safety record as this is a safety sensitive position.
  • Ability to effectively organize, plan, prioritize, document, and complete work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, take direction from supervisors, keep required job schedules, focus on details, and follow work rules.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Motivated and a Self-Starter.
  • Takes pride and responsibility for attention to details.
  • Must be able to work and drive in all-weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, wind, snow, and rain.
  • Must be physically able to safely handle job-related tools.
  • Subject to federally mandated drug and alcohol testing.
  • Requires visual acuity for driving and extended computer use.
  • Involves walking, standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and crawling at work sites.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical Degree or Vocational Training is preferred.
  • Well flow experience and knowledge is a plus.
  • 1 to 3 years’ oil and gas field experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Rig up and test equipment, including separators, manifolds, flowlines, and safety valves.
  • Operate high-pressure production lines, fluid separation vessels, and automatic data acquisition systems.
  • Monitor and record wellhead pressure, temperature, fluid levels, and phase flow rates.
  • Maintain exact daily logs, production reports, and equipment maintenance history sheets.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues, including valve leaks, sensor errors, and pressure spikes.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on mechanical, pneumatic, and electronic testing tools.
