Requirements

  • 8-10 years of experience as a welder
  • 2-4 years leading welding teams
  • Demonstrates operations and technical skills and understanding of Flex functional standards.
  • Demonstrates a general knowledge of functional concepts and a rudimentary understanding of Flex policies and procedures.
  • Has awareness of the functional impact upon work processes and other functions.
  • Ability to operate telephones, data entry, office software including, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation packages and data base systems.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define and solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to collect data, establish facts, interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form, and draw valid conclusions.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the production of several processes/lines in a highly technical environment and is responsible for the lines' success.
  • Evaluates daily/regularly plant operating performance and advises on changes in operating conditions to improve efficiencies and quality.
  • Leads a team of individual professionals to meet quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness requirements.
  • Troubleshoots and analyzes operational problems and advises on their resolution.
  • Guides regular discussions with operators to coach performance and improve operational understanding and capability.
  • Solicits and evaluates ideas for plant improvements and collaborates with qualified engineers to develop project proposals.
  • Provides technical and operational advice to project teams.
  • May act as the principal interface between the operation team and the maintenance function.
  • Engages in training and coaching of junior operators.
  • Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply to meet customer requirements.
  • Initiates and participates in process development and cost improvement projects.
  • Assists in department budget planning and management of department expenses.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing individuals on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Ensures compliance to manufacturing standards.
