Welding Project Engineer
About The Position
The ideal candidate will be a hands on Welding Engineer who excels at data management and has significant technical welding knowledge. Key Responsibilities: Analyze and improve existing manufacturing, welding, and inspection processes to increase throughput, efficiency and product quality. Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, Theory of Constraints, and 5S principles. Drive the implementation of standard work practices and visual management tools to reduce waste and increase consistency. Partner with Quality and Sales to evaluate and qualify new and existing vendors Participate in internal CAPEX and process development projects to support operational goals. Provide technical guidance and act as a backup to other engineering roles as needed. Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of all technical processes and updates. Preferred Experience/Education: Bachelor’s Science in Engineering 3+ years of project management experience in a manufacturing setting Six Sigma certification, TOC, or formal lean manufacturing training is a plus ERP system (Syteline) proficiency and experience with job scheduling tools Experience managing CAPEX and internal process improvement initiatives. Serve as Project Manager for assigned internal and external projects, from estimating to execution and close-out. Create work orders within the ERP system with clear production and vendor instructions. Build and manage detailed project schedules and budgets aligned with customer requirements. Monitor project performance and provide timely updates to management and customers. Act as the primary point of contact between ETW and project stakeholders Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers to meet project goals and timelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Science in Engineering
- 3+ years of project management experience in a manufacturing setting
Nice To Haves
- Six Sigma certification, TOC, or formal lean manufacturing training is a plus
- ERP system (Syteline) proficiency and experience with job scheduling tools
- Experience managing CAPEX and internal process improvement initiatives.
