About The Position

BFW/Marcum is seeking a skilled Welding Inspector/Construction Inspector to join its Testing & Inspections team. The role involves inspecting seismic-related construction at active job sites to help ensure buildings and structures comply with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications. The position focuses on field inspection of wood and steel structures, welding quality control, documentation, issue resolution, and jobsite safety.

Requirements

• Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
• At least 3 years of related inspection or construction experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.

Nice To Haves

• NDT Level II or III certifications in line with ASNT SNT-TC-1A.

Responsibilities

• Inspect wood and steel structures at active construction sites for compliance with welding codes, local building codes, standards, and project specifications.
• Review construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings, including structural and seismic connection details.
• Perform quality control checks throughout the welding process, including visual inspection and non-destructive testing (NDT) when needed.
• Document findings and prepare clear, accurate reports for project teams and regulatory agencies.
• Work with construction management teams to resolve material and procedural issues.
• Follow and apply company safety policies on jobsites.
