About The Position

BFW/Marcum is seeking a skilled Welding Inspector / Construction Inspector to join its Testing & Inspections team in Paducah, Kentucky. This full-time role involves inspecting seismic-related construction at active job sites to help ensure buildings and structures comply with applicable codes, project specifications, and quality standards. The inspector reviews construction documentation, performs welding quality-control inspections, records findings, collaborates with construction management teams to resolve issues, and follows company safety policies.

Requirements

• Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
• At least 3 years of related inspection or construction experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Nice To Haves

• NDT Level II or III certifications in line with ASNT SNT-TC-1A.

Responsibilities

• Inspect wood and steel structures at active construction sites for compliance with welding codes, local building codes, standards, and project specifications.
• Review construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings, including structural and seismic connection details.
• Perform quality-control checks throughout the welding process, including visual inspection and non-destructive testing when needed.
• Document findings and prepare clear, accurate reports for project teams and regulatory agencies.
• Work with construction management teams to resolve material and procedural issues quickly.
• Follow and apply company safety policies on the jobsite.
