The Welding Fitter will weld steel components using welding equipment as specified by procedures, layouts, blueprints, diagrams, work orders, or oral instructions. Welds can range from simple tacks to complex welds, performed in varying positions. The role involves operating and using related equipment and tools such as forklifts, hoists, slings, grinders, cutting torches, hand tools, drills, punches, a tape measure, and Air Arc. The individual must be able to read, understand, and follow job order specifications, blueprints, work instructions, and procedures, while maintaining a high level of work performance in accordance with Pratt standards and/or job order specifications. The position also requires performing or assisting in other assigned duties as qualified and maintaining a safe and clean work environment. A key requirement is the ability to understand welding symbols and diagrams, read blueprints and/or other printed instructional material. Good attendance is essential for performing the job's essential functions.
