About The Position

Miller Industries is seeking a Welding Apprentice on our 1st Shift in Fenton, MI. 1st Shift hours are Monday – Friday, 6 am to 4:30 pm, with some overtime hours on weekends as needed for production. We are seeking a candidate starting your welding education and experience in High School, Skilled Trade Center or College and is ready to take the next step to become a Welding Apprentice.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent, Technical or Vocational school certification or equivalent Requirement and 6 months+ of welding education and/or experience in high school, skilled trade center or college.

Responsibilities

Working full-time at Miller Industries and taking classes, paid for by the company, at Mott Community College.
Gaining hands on experience working side by side with our most experienced Fitter/Welders.
Understand how to interpret and use blueprints, welding specifications, and welding procedures.
Learn to use and read welding measuring devices including but not limited to squares, levels, and tape measures.
Make repair welds using fabrication equipment including but not limited to cutting torches and hand grinders.
Learn the proper use of fabrication support equipment.
