About The Position

Under general supervision, this position will provide instruction to students in welding technology courses during evening classes. The instructor will demonstrate the use of appropriate teaching techniques, testing and grading procedures, and maintain proper records. Effective oral and written communication skills, along with current in-field knowledge, are essential. The instructor must follow the approved course syllabus and complete all required reports, records, and invoices in a timely manner, maintaining an accurate inventory of assigned properties. Requirements

  • A Diploma or higher in the teaching discipline with verifiable credentials, qualifications, OR competencies appropriate for teaching the course content, OR In-field certifications, OR three (3) years of experience in-field.
  • Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree outside of the teaching discipline with industry certifications or verifiable work experience appropriate for teaching the course content.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction to students in welding technology courses during evening classes.
  • Demonstrate the use of appropriate teaching techniques.

  • Maintain proper maintenance of grade books and any other appropriate record-keeping.
  • Demonstrate the effective use of oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of current in-field procedures.

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all assigned properties.
  • Participate fully in the realization of equity in recruitment, enrollment, retention, graduation, and placement of students, with a special emphasis on nontraditional program participants.
