Requirements

  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend both oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to interpret work orders, blueprints, sketches, and diagrams to determine appropriate welding process.
  • Required to furnish your own welding helmet and steel toe boots.
  • Good attendance is a must and safety are a priority.
  • Must be able to work overtime and have weekend availability.
  • Follows directions given from Welding supervisor and leads.
  • Works well as part of a team and has willingness to help others when directed.
  • Possess troubleshooting skills in seeing weld flaws or imperfections in metal.
  • Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time in hot conditions.
  • Ability to pass a welding test conducted pre-employment.
  • Knowledge of commonly used practices and procedures in manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to meet, with or without reasonable accommodation, the physical requirements associated with the essential functions of this position.
  • Must regularly be able to exert 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds for force constantly.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
  • May be regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, and vibration.
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and other manufacturing materials.
  • Must be able to perform work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Noise level is usually loud.
  • Machinery and tool operation requires use of safety equipment to include, but not limited to steel toe boots, welding/cutting helmet, hearing protection, and safety gloves.
  • Drug screen and Physical Capacity Profile test is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational diploma in welding or minimum of 2 years production welding preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Welds together metal components as specified by blueprints, work orders, welding procedures and oral instructions using various types of welding equipment in accordance with company procedures and standard welding practices.
  • Joins, fabricates, and makes repairs to metal by applying the appropriate welding techniques.
  • Records number of pieces completed.
  • Manufactures parts within given time frames to achieve daily goals to meet customer demands and specifications.
  • Works in a safe manner and follows all safety guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as required.
