Their core values are Kindness, Grit, Positivity, Ownership, and Helpfulness. This specific role is for a Welder on the 1st shift, working Monday through Thursday from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The welder is responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding, and weld finishing operations to manufacture products according to customer drawings, specifications, and requirements.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of an internal math assessment and weld test.
  • Ability to use tools ranging from common hand and power tools including grinders and cut off wheels to measuring instruments such as a tape measure and gauges.
  • Knowledge of welding equipment and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steels alloys aluminum, etc.
  • Computer skills as they pertain to this job including but not limited to: Microsoft Office
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in oral and written forms.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as work instructions, safety rules, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines.
  • High School degree, diploma or a general education degree (GED);
  • Twelve months welding experience or, certificate/degree in welding;
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Position, align, fit, and weld parts following blue prints and layout specifications using jigs and hand tools.
  • Examine parts for all defects and measure parts with a variety of measurement tools to ensure conformance with specifications.
  • Weld components in flat and vertical positions using MIG and TIG processes.
  • Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
  • Selects torch tips and filler material according to welding chart specifications or types and thicknesses of metals.
  • Performs quality inspections within the welding department.
  • Performs work in accordance with established operational standards and processes.
  • Maintains work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
