About The Position
This position involves welding steel structural parts according to specified drawings or prints. Responsibilities include operating various equipment such as grinders, flip rites, transfers, and magnetic drills to prepare and finish welds. A key aspect of the role is performing full visual inspections to ensure all welds are correctly applied. Effective communication with team members to address safety, quality, and efficiency concerns is essential. Safety is paramount, and candidates must demonstrate a commitment to upholding safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
Requirements
- WQ1 (2G) weld certification
Nice To Haves
- Can read and understand weld symbols
- Can use an arc gouger
- Previous crane certification
- Previous experience in material handling
Responsibilities
- Welding steel structural parts as specified per drawing or print.
- Operating grinder to prepare and finish welds.
- Operating flip rite.
- Operating transfers.
- Operating magnetic drill.
- Full visual inspection of part ensuring all welds are in place and properly applied.
- Effectively communicating with upstream and downstream to address safety, quality and efficiency issues/concerns.
- Initiating, leading, and upholding safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
