About The Position

As a Welder at Emerson's Brenham, TX facility, you'll help manufacture precision products used by customers around the world. We are looking for dependable team members who are committed to quality, safety, and continuous learning. This is for the 3rd - Weekend Day Shift, Friday-Sunday (6:00am-6:30pm) with a starting pay of $20-$27 + shift differential ($2.00 per hour) based on experience.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Ability to use inspection tools such as scales, calipers, micrometers, and other basic measuring devices.
  • Ability to successfully complete required quality and ISO training.
  • Ability to work overtime and flexible schedules as needed to support business demands.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn welding processes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous welding, brazing, soldering, assembly, or manufacturing experience.
  • Experience using TIG welding equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
  • Experience working in a regulated quality environment.

Responsibilities

  • Performs basic welding, brazing, and adhesion operations to support diaphragm seal and related product manufacturing.
  • Operates resistance seam welding and TIG welding equipment in accordance with established procedures, work instructions, and quality standards.
  • Conducts product inspections using approved measurement and inspection methods to ensure conformance with specifications.
  • Maintains material identification and traceability throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Completes production documentation accurately, including pass, fail, repair, rework, and scrap records.
  • Identifies and communicates equipment, process, tooling, drawing, specification, or quality concerns to the supervisor or appropriate team member.
  • Performs repair and rework activities in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Reads and interprets engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions to perform assigned tasks.
  • Maintains proper product organization, handling, and identification throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Supports continuous improvement, 5S initiatives, and lean manufacturing practices.
  • Follows all company safety, quality, environmental, and operational policies and procedures.
  • Contributes positively to a team-oriented work environment and supports production goals.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
