About The Position
Our client builds custom, made-to-order products in a smaller shop in Waterloo, Iowa. The Fabrication Welder welds large and small weldments, lays out and fabricates parts as needed, and produces parts to blueprint requirements on time to meet the production schedule. This is a first shift position. Relocation is not offered, so local candidates are preferred. The role is subject to a weld test, drug screening and background check.
Requirements
- 2+ years of welding experience in a manufacturing environment
- Fabrication welding background (MIG/TIG)
- Ability to read blueprints
- Proficiency measuring and calculating fractions and decimals
- Ability to use measurement tools including square, angle square, calipers and tape measure
- Comfortable with wrenches, air tools, handheld grinders, overhead cranes and steel handling
- Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs, and to stand all day
Responsibilities
- Weld large and small weldments (MIG and TIG).
- Lay out and fabricate parts as needed, working from prints.
- Produce parts to blueprint requirements in time to meet the production schedule.
- Keep the work area clean and organized.
