About The Position

Hutco, Inc. is seeking first-class structural welders with shipyard experience for long-term work at a shipyard in Port Allen, Louisiana. Applicants will complete an on-site test to determine their welding capability. No TWIC card is required, and per diem is not available. Overtime is paid for hours worked after 40 hours.

Requirements

• First-class structural welding skills.
• Shipyard experience.
• Pass an on-location test to demonstrate welding capability.
• Ability to perform the described physical and work-environment tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural welding work at a shipyard.
• Work in internally confined spaces.
• Operate the machines and tools essential to the Welder position.
• Traverse gangways and scaffolding at varying heights, and navigate uneven heights between the dock and vessel and other uneven surfaces.
• Maneuver around piping obstructions and web frames; ascend and work at heights.
• Handle physical tasks including stooping, squatting, twisting, kneeling, and reaching.
• Manipulate and transport loads up to 50 pounds over distances up to 200 feet, approximately 1 to 6 times per 8-hour shift.
