About The Position

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Welder in Palmdale, California, to support a leading aerospace and defense company. This onsite, one-year contract-to-hire role supports tooling and manufacturing operations by performing precision welding on aluminum and steel components and assemblies. The position pays $50.55 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 3 years of related welding experience.
• Experience with MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding in a manufacturing or tool-fabrication environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, and work instructions.
• Experience performing fit-up, joint preparation, welding, and finishing of components.
• Experience using measuring and inspection tools to verify dimensional and quality requirements.
• Knowledge of common weld defects, quality requirements, and corrective actions.
• Ability to safely set up and operate welding equipment and related shop tools.
• Ability to obtain and maintain applicable welding certifications or internal qualifications.
• U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Weld aluminum and steel parts and assemblies to engineering requirements.
• Determine layouts and perform welding operations from drawings and specifications.
• Perform component fit-up, joint preparation, welding, and finishing.
• Set up and operate MIG, TIG, stick, and related welding equipment as required.
• Inspect completed work for dimensional and weld-quality compliance.
• Identify weld defects and support corrective actions.
• Use standard measuring and inspection tools throughout fabrication.
• Support tooling and manufacturing objectives in a production environment.
