About The Position

Sunstate Equipment Co. is seeking a skilled Welder to join their team. This role is crucial for building trench and MAP shoring, as well as performing large repairs on mild and carbon steel. The position is primarily outdoors in the yard and requires physical exertion. Requirements

• Previous welding experience with both manual and semi-automatic processing (electric arc ‘stick’, gas welding)
• AWS D1.1 certification for unlimited thickness in a 3G or 4G position using the FCAW process outer shield wire (E71 T-1)
• Experience using mathematics to measure, solve problems and confirm sizes
• Experience with tack welding
• Experience converting tap measure to decimals
• Competent with welding tools
• Physical exertion is a big part of this job (lifting, bending, standing)

Nice To Haves

• Certified welders in structural steel both manual and semi-automatic
• Experience with spot welding and large repairs on mild and carbon steel
• Experience with reverse engineering at times to do major repairs

Responsibilities

• Assisting branch members with building trench and MAP shoring
• Performing large repairs on mild and carbon steel
• Performing manual and semi-automatic welding with electric arc ‘stick’ and gas welding processes
• Performing spot welding
• Performing tack welding
• Reverse engineering at times to do major repairs
