About The Position
MidCanada Reinforcing Inc. began as a family business in 1994. Now known as MidCanada Rebar Ltd. Starting as small steel fabricators providing reinforcing steel, residential steel beams and teleposts. MidCanada joined the Salit Group of Companies in 2025. Position Summary Welder is a key function for our organizational success at MidCanada Rebar Ltd. Some key functions include; read and interpret blueprint, fabricate metal structures using various welding techniques, and ability to provide high quality of welds.
Requirements
- Proven experience in welding, fabrication, and assembly
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings
- Ability to operate a crane, forklift, and other machinery as needed
- Strong knowledge of various welding techniques and equipment
- Excellent communication skills
- Commitment to workplace safety, keeping work area clean and tidy
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy materials and standing for long periods, ability to lift 23 kgs (50 lbs)
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent combined with prior experience in manufacturing, construction or metal fabrication setting.
- Hold CWB certifications would be considered an asset.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain welding equipment such as Press brake machines
- Utilize hand tools and mechanical knowledge to complete welding tasks
- Inspect finished products for quality assurance
- Train and mentor junior welders on proper techniques
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure project deadlines are met
