About The Position

Bloom Energy is hiring a Welder to fabricate components used in solid oxide fuel cell electrical power generators. The role is based on-site in Fremont, California, and reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor. The work includes reading work instructions, welding parts in multiple positions, operating equipment, performing quality checks, maintaining shop equipment, and following safety and production procedures. The scheduled shift is Thursday through Saturday, with alternating Wednesdays, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience following required work instructions.
Mechanical skills and ability to use basic shop tools and equipment.
Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE); may be required to wear a respirator and pass a fit test.
Ability to stand for prolonged periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Manual dexterity to assemble products as directed.
Excellent hand-eye coordination.

Nice To Haves

One year of TIG welding experience preferred.
Two to three years of work experience involving hands-on manufacturing practices preferred.
Valid welding certificate from an accredited institution preferred.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret work instructions to determine welding requirements.
Weld in horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
Position and clamp parts together in fixtures.
Count parts accurately to ensure quality control before welding.
Operate welding equipment according to its operating manual.
Complete required paperwork correctly and on time.
Operate a hoist and power lift stand.
Load and unload jigs.
Perform leak-testing checks on finished welded products.
Follow standard operating procedures and work instructions as written to produce quality products.
Fabricate components for solid oxide fuel cell electrical power generators.
Maintain machine shop equipment and 5S standards.
Notify management when shop consumables need replenishing to maintain inventory.
Create assembly and fabrication fixtures.
Recommend improved methods for creating hardware and assemblies.
Perform basic job functions safely and efficiently, and carry out other duties as assigned.
