About The Position
EP² provides power management systems for commercial and utility industries, supporting power generation, transmission, and distribution. The Welder works in the Steel Department at the Electrical Power Products, Inc. facility in Des Moines, Iowa, carrying out welding and fabrication with precision. The position reports to the Steel Foreman and involves operating shop equipment, fabricating steel components, and supporting panel assembly.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and use a tape measure.
- Experience using electrical and manual tools.
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and reliable attendance.
Nice To Haves
- Welding, carpentry, or other related experience.
Responsibilities
- Read structural drawings and layouts.
- Operate shop tools and equipment.
- Perform all phases and types of panel fabrication.
- Identify possible errors or discrepancies in work, including layout prints and structural drawings, and bring them to the proper authority’s attention.
- Help control inventory and record materials and quantities charged to jobs.
- Complete steel fabrication, hang doors for assembly, and build panels.
- Weld components using various welding equipment.
- Maintain the condition of equipment being used.
