About The Position

This role involves performing welding duties onboard a vessel, ensuring compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements. The Welder is expected to act as a safety leader, maintain equipment, plan and execute welding jobs, and communicate effectively with various stakeholders. The position also emphasizes a commitment to continuous improvement and fostering a high-performance culture through defined behaviors.

Requirements

  • Valid 6GR certificate from a recognized institute.
  • Minimum of two (2) + years offshore experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Complies with the company’s Code of Conduct and support policies, standards, and applicable process documentation.
  • Complies with and effectively contribute to the continuous improvement of Valaris Management System (VMS), Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) related policies and procedures, and relevant authority regulatory requirements.
  • Performs all work according to agreed expectations of both internal and external customers, focuses on doing things right the first time, every time, and contributes actively to continual improvement activities about the rig.
  • Acts as a safety leader ensuring the ongoing identification of hazards and the implementation of controls to manage associated risks with a special focus on Permit to Work, Isolation and Hot Work procedures.
  • Acts as leader in executing any hot work-related jobs onboard the vessel and acquaints oneself with the lay-out of the vessel and recognizes possible dangers.
  • Maintains welder shop housekeeping and equipment welding equipment in the best possible condition with respect to reliability and safety devices.
  • Under all circumstances maintains a minimum of equipment, spares, and material required onboard to execute jobs.
  • Ensures all welding jobs are planned, organized, supervised, and executed in accordance with Valaris requirements, contractual obligations and does not interfere with well programs.
  • Informs Chief Engineer and other department heads of any technical problems or limitations that may affect safe operation of the vessel.
  • Clearly and accurately communicates work status at end of shift.
  • Creates an environment in which open communication occurs between departments, clients, and third parties as required.
