About The Position

The Welder will be responsible for welding and fabricating parts for Linebacker brush-cutting equipment and Jarraff All-Terrain Tree-Trimmers. This role involves reading blueprints, setting up welding equipment, operating various welding tools, and performing quality control checks. The position also requires maintaining equipment and ensuring a clean work area.

Requirements

  • Thorough understanding of machines and tools used in welding including designs, uses, maintenance, and repair.
  • Basic understanding of design techniques, principles, and tools necessary for the precise production of technical plans, drawings, models, and blueprints.
  • Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms.
  • Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Welding experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process, work measurement, quality assurance, shop routings, blueprints, and math.
  • Weld components that are vertical, flat, or overhead.
  • Use enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.

  • Regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Nice To Haves

  • 2-year technical degree in welding or equivalent in experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Weld parts/machinery for both Linebacker brush-cutting equipment and Jarraff All-Terrain Tree-Trimmers.
  • Fabricate both Linebacker brush-cutting equipment and Jarraff All-Terrain Tree-Trimmers.
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and take measurements to plan layout as well as procedures.
  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
  • Set up components for welding according to specifications.
  • Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts for welding.
  • Align components using tape measures, rulers, clamp pieces, etc.
  • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead).
  • Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces along with filling gaps.
  • Test as well as inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws.
  • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
  • Operate the cobot/robotic welding system to manage the repetitive precision parts, while handling quality control.
  • Ensure cleanup of work areas after welding operations including removal of any excess metal, cleanup of any spills or debris, and checks to make sure the work area is free of any contaminants.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.
