About The Position

The Certified Welder is a highly skilled, safety-critical role responsible for the fabrication and structural integrity of high-pressure vessels and complex industrial actuators in strict accordance with ASME standards. Operating under rigorous third-party inspection and strict traceability requirements, this role demands absolute precision, advanced blueprint interpretation, and the mandatory maintenance of specialized welding certifications to meet stringent regulatory codes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in advanced industrial welding, specifically with high pressure vessels, tanks, or heavy structural fabrication.
  • Ability to successfully pass required site specific certification testing within a maximum of 3 attempts during the onboarding period, with results verified by an external third-party laboratory.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and accurately interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and fixture setups (technical competency will be evaluated via a practical assessment during the interview and shop tour process).
  • Uncompromising commitment to quality and safety, understanding that failure to maintain active certifications or pass continuity re-certification will result in immediate removal from the role.
  • Ability to endure the physical demands of the role, including lifting heavy materials, manipulating complex fixtures, and operating safely in a high heat manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Active or previously held credentials in ASME Section IX, AWS, or specific pressure vessel codes.
  • Prior background in customized industrial fabrication requiring frequent fixture changes, intricate setups, and first article preparations.
  • Familiarity with the strict documentation, testing parameters, and continuity logging required to maintain active regulatory welding credentials.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and weld complex pressure vessels, tanks, and actuator components in strict adherence to ASME and other mandatory pressure vessel regulatory codes.
  • Execute precision welds that are subject to rigorous third-party inspections at three distinct stages of the production process to guarantee structural integrity and regulatory compliance.
  • Interpret advanced engineering drawings and mechanical blueprints to accurately measure, place, set up, and secure complex fixtures for highly customized production runs.
  • Prepare, execute, and validate first article inspections to establish baseline quality and structural standards prior to full scale production.
  • Permanently stamp a unique personal identification number into all completed work to ensure lifetime traceability, complete accountability, and stringent quality assurance.
  • Maintain active, up to date welding certifications and meticulously manage continuity logs to prevent credential lapses, as mandated by the site certification policy.
  • Coordinate with designated internal evaluators and third-party laboratories to successfully pass rigorous internal qualification tests within the strict timeframes and attempt limits dictated by facility policy.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment while safely managing extreme heat, heavy industrial materials, and hazardous welding gases.
