About The Position

This position is responsible for applying appropriate welding processes to meet specifications, inspecting and repairing welds to support the production and assembly of exhaust pipe components. The Welder will perform as an active team member in performing other tasks within the cell, tending to one or more machine tools, special purpose machines, industrial robots, or hand welders to machine work pieces to specifications, and meeting and exceeding production rates.

Requirements

  • Successfully pass MIG welding test.
  • Effective communication skills required, both verbal and written.
  • Successful proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and follow all manuals and standardized work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task.
  • Follow all negotiated changes, projects, and orders through to completion.
  • Solid organizational skills.
  • Possess a strong work ethic.
  • Possess a satisfactory work record and acceptable attendance record.

Responsibilities

  • Apply appropriate welding processes to meet specifications.
  • Inspect and repair welds to support the production and assembly of exhaust pipe components.
  • Perform as an active team member in performing other tasks within the cell.
  • Tend to one or more machine tools, special purpose machines, industrial robots, or hand welders to machine metal work pieces to specifications.
  • Meet and exceed production rates.
  • Lift work piece manually or using hoist and secure work piece in fixture or load automatic feeding device.
  • Start machine, engage feed, and observe operation.
  • Mig weld product parts to specification either by machine or manually.
  • Inspect and measure machined work pieces to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Move machine controls and guide to adjust machine.
  • Replace worn machine accessories such as cutting tools or brushes.
  • Add coolant to machine reservoir and turn valve to start flow of coolant.
  • File, sand, or shape machined parts.
  • Clean machined parts.
  • Tend machines and equipment other than machine tools.
  • Record part flow.
