About The Position

This position is responsible for welding on a variety of items, which may be subject to heavy stress or load, usually welding for mechanical strength. The role involves ensuring the quality of work performed, handling equipment, tools, and parts with caution, and maintaining the welding machines and tools. Good housekeeping practices in the welding area are also expected. The employee must abide by all company policies, procedures, and guidelines, including safety practices and the Company Core Values and CARE Initiative.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) plus one-year certificate from college or technical school and five years related experience; or equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Welding a variety of items which may be subject to heavy stress or load, usually welding for mechanical strength.
  • Ensuring the quality of work performed in the welding area.
  • Using caution in handling equipment, tools, and parts.
  • Performing general maintenance of both machinery and plant area, including cleaning and maintenance of welding machines and all tools involved in daily production.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping practices in the welding area.
  • Abiding by all policies, procedures, and guidelines of the company, including safety practices.
