About The Position

This position is responsible for welding of steel, aluminum and stainless steel parts using MIG and TIG processes. Working closely with the Lead Welder is key to planning ahead and ensuring that all tasks are completed on schedule. This position requires the ability to read drawings and produce a consistently quality product. This is a hands on position that requires a focus on safety.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Have appropriate reading, clerical, and basic math skills.
Have appropriate mechanical skills, including experience using hand and air-powered tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers, etc.).
Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
Ability to be certified to operate a forklift and use other heavy equipment.
Demonstrates the ability to weld production jobs to print, while following standard work with little to no supervision.
Be knowledgeable of SAP and be able to utilize the system, and assist others, based upon job needs.
Pass required entry-level plate test for production welding.
Be able to handle items weighing over 60 pounds from floor to knuckle.
Be able to handle pull or push items up to 50 pounds.
Be able to handle items up to 35 pounds from knuckle to shoulder.
Be able to handle items up to 25 pounds from shoulder to overhead.
Job requires frequent twisting, bending, squatting, kneeling, and climbing.
Job requires continuous walking.
Job requires occasional sitting and elevated work.

Nice To Haves

Preferred 2+ years of field experience with MIG and TIG welding.
Certificate from technical school preferred.
Have appropriate MIG and TIG welding experience OR have completed a formal welding training program (or the equivalent in training and experience).

Responsibilities

Read information from blueprints, technical manuals or other documents.
Set up fixtures, mount parts in fixtures, and perform mechanical assembly.
Use a hoist to lift and position large, heavier components and completed weldments.
Set up, adjust, and operate MIG welding equipment to weld machine components.
Remove components from fixtures, clean and check them for quality, and correct errors or deficiencies of weldments.
Use a computer to check the location, inventory, routing of parts, and to record inventory transactions.
Willing to instruct and train others on best practices in production welding.
