About The Position

The Welder position requires the ability to weld a variety of steel types and thicknesses, with some aluminum welding also included. The primary welding process is GMAW (MIG) using semi-automatic and robotic equipment, with some GTAW (TIG) also performed. The role involves setting up and operating welding equipment, performing simple maintenance, loading and operating weld fixtures, and utilizing various cutting equipment. Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a welding test.
  • Must be able to set-up and operate welding equipment, including control of gas flow rates, amperage and voltage settings.
  • Must be able to load and operate weld fixtures.
  • Must be able to read a tape measure.
  • Must understand weld symbols.
  • Must be able to complete simple shop math.
  • Must be able to use plasma cutting equipment.
  • Must be able to use air-arc gouging equipment.
  • Must be able to use oxy-fuel cutting equipment.
  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds.
  • Must be willing to work overtime.
  • Must be at work each scheduled workday.
  • Must have verifiable work history.

Responsibilities

  • Weld a variety of steel types and thicknesses.
  • Weld aluminum.
  • Perform primary welding process using GMAW (MIG) with semi-automatic and robotic welding equipment.
  • Perform GTAW (TIG) welding.
  • Set-up and operate welding equipment, including control of gas flow rates, amperage, and voltage settings.
  • Complete simple maintenance of welding equipment by replacing normal consumables and welding gun/lead.
  • Load and operate weld fixtures.
  • Read a tape measure.
  • Understand weld symbols.
  • Complete simple shop math.
  • Use plasma cutting equipment.
  • Use air-arc gouging equipment.
  • Use oxy-fuel cutting equipment.
  • Lift 60 pounds.
  • Work overtime.
  • Be at work each scheduled workday.
