About The Position
EP² provides complete power management systems for commercial and utility industries for power generation, transmission, and distribution. The Welder works in the Steel Department of the Electrical Power Products, Inc. facility in Des Moines, Iowa, supporting the team that builds its products. Reporting to the Steel Foreman, this role performs welding and fabrication, operates appropriate equipment, and completes tasks with precision.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and use a tape measure.
- Experience using electrical and manual tools.
- Close attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and reliable attendance.
Nice To Haves
- Welding, carpentry, or other related experience.
Responsibilities
- Read structurals and layouts.
- Operate shop tools and equipment.
- Perform phases and types of panel fabrication.
- Identify possible errors or discrepancies in work, including layout prints and structurals, and bring them to the attention of the proper authority.
- Help control inventory and record the usage and quantities of materials charged out to jobs.
- Complete steel fabrication, hang doors for assembly, and build panels.
- Weld components using various welding equipment.
- Maintain the condition of equipment being used.
