Requirements

  • Has welding and fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Can read blueprints and follow work instructions
  • Takes pride in producing quality work the first time
  • Pays close attention to detail
  • Is dependable, safety-minded, and enjoys working as part of a team
  • Must possess a verifiable high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Must have a minimum of 4-7 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work independently; to make good, sound, and timely decisions & exercise proper judgment and discretion
  • Ability to understand, track, organize, and successfully complete multiple tasks and projects
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact diplomatically with employees, customers, and associates
  • Ability to handle and process information in a timely and confidential manner
  • Ability to sustain high energy and enthusiasm with the appropriate level of urgency as needed
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand all drawings, routers, and process specifications
  • Ability to meet production and quality performance metrics regularly and consistently
  • Ability to learn and accurately use company computer software programs as related to role
  • Ability to work independently while making good, sound, and timely decisions
  • Ability to receive and understand training by various methods: i.e., oral, written, on-the-job, computer-based, etc.
  • Proficient writing and speaking skills with ability to communicate professionally, objectively, and effectively
  • Sufficient ability to read, write, and speak in English and be understood; able to follow instructions
  • Sufficient visual acuity (corrected) to be able to read and view paperwork, printouts, screens, etc.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to type and operate equipment as related to fulfilling assigned duties
  • Ability to uphold and comply with the company Mission, Safety and Quality Policies
  • Must have speaking ability; and sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics to enable and adequately perform the job
  • Must be able to sit/stand continuously on a daily basis
  • Must be able to twist, turn, bend, and reach freely without pain or discomfort
  • Must have sufficient dexterity in both hands and arms to perform routine operation of equipment

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, clean, and fabricate components for production
  • Perform high-quality welds in multiple positions
  • Read drawings, build lists, and work instructions
  • Inspect your work to ensure it meets quality standards
  • Work with a team focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement
  • Keep your work area organized and production moving efficiently
  • Provides technical expertise to prepare, clean, fabricate, and weld various parts for production and development to ensure full satisfaction of our customers
  • Receive, check, and verify sub-parts needed for work orders and jobs; resolve any discrepancies
  • Fabricate/weld parts correctly using job build list, drawings, specifications, and procedures
  • Meet and sustain established quality and production volume performance criteria
  • Follow specific written and oral instruction for cleaning and preparation of weld materials
  • Prepare and clean product using various methods: compressed air, water, deburring, etc.
  • Set-up/breakdown all weld equipment and workstations for production and prototype parts
  • Receive and verify parts and raw material as needed for job; notify Team Lead of defects
  • Weld components in flat, vertical, and/or overhand positions to produce consistent quality welds
  • Monitor weld processes to avoid overheating of parts to prevent warping, shrinking, or expansion
  • Adjust setting and controls of equipment and/or position and movement of fixtures as needed
  • Assist team in ensuring department production, efficiency, and safety goals are met
  • Confer with supervisor on anticipated completion of assignments to ensure efficient work flow
  • Check and inspect work at in-process and final checkpoints as per documented weld procedures
  • Visually examine and inspect work in-process for conformance as required – i.e., using Fillet Gauges
  • Promote and assist others to meet Quality Policy and ISO standards and customer expectations
  • Record, verify, and review results for product requirement and/or conformance
  • Input all build data and accurately voucher time and materials into manufacturing software system
  • Receive and understand daily job assignments, priorities, and work instruction
  • Organize, clean, and maintain area tools, and equipment daily
  • Assure all department work centers and related areas are safely maintained, clean, and organized
  • Performs all work within the scope of abilities under all quality and safety policies and practices
  • Establish and maintain effective, positive, and professional communication with all co-workers
  • Willingly performs other duties as trained and able
