About The Position

This position involves programming, setting up, and running various welding machines, including hand welding, TIG welding, and orbital welding of stainless steel and other high-purity materials. The role requires demonstrating the ability to perform mechanical set-ups and changeovers, executing Standard Operating Procedures, and studying prints, drawings, and specifications to complete finished welds. The Welder will use specialized computer welding equipment and approved hand gauges to inspect component quality, work as a team member to meet departmental standards for quality and delivery, and collaborate with Engineering to develop advanced welding processes. A strong understanding and execution of safety rules and regulations are essential to prevent injuries and environmental harm.

Requirements

  • Basic PC skills for manufacturing.
  • Experience working in high-purity clean room environment.
  • Basic math, blueprint reading and weld to print skills.
  • 3+ years’ work experience performing TIG welding of stainless steel or less experience with a Welding technology degree (or currently enrolled in Welding Technology Degree program).
  • US Person status required due to ITAR regulations (US citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected person).

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing preferred.
  • Aptitude or understanding of products, systems and UHP industry so as to successfully perform duties.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Programming, set-up and running of various welding machines to include hand welding, using a TIG welder and orbital welding using an orbital welding machine of stainless steel and other high purity materials.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform mechanical set-ups and changeovers for all welding operations.
  • Execute all of Ichor’s Standard Operating Procedures as they pertain to manufacturing related duties.
  • Responsible for the study of prints, drawings and specifications to complete finished welds and lay out of tasks using specialized computer welding equipment.
  • Proficiently use all approved hand gauges to inspect component quality at the work center.
  • Work as a team member to aid others in upholding and maintaining departmental standards including quality goals and on-time delivery goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to process and inspect work in accordance to prints.
  • Ability to perform a sequence of operations, consistently maintaining the performance level set for quality and quantity.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to develop advanced welding processes.
  • Understand and execute Ichor’s safety rules and regulations to prevent unsafe set-ups, operations, or acts, which may cause injury to self, others or the environment.
