About The Position

This position involves welding metal components according to blueprints, work orders, welding procedures, and oral instructions. The welder will utilize various types of welding equipment following company procedures and standard welding practices. Responsibilities include welding in flat or horizontal positions, inspecting welds for quality, repairing damaged parts, and performing other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Completed junior welder level or have equivalent experience, training and skill.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
• Math skills.
• Ability to weld in any position.
• Knowledge of nearly all parts and fixtures.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and measuring devices.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs frequently and up to 100lbs occasionally.
• Metatarsal boots required.

Responsibilities

• Weld metal components as specified by blueprints, work orders, welding procedures and oral instructions.
• Use various types of welding equipment in accordance with company procedures and standard welding practices.
• Weld in flat or horizontal positions.
• Examine welds for bead size and other specifications.
• Repair broken or cracked parts.
• Fill holes.
• Chip off excess weld, slag and splatter.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
