About The Position

This role involves performing all position welding on a variety of structures, requiring the ability to switch between different wire sizes and steel thicknesses. The welder will be responsible for positioning fabricated components, ensuring high product quality, and maintaining safe working habits. This position also includes responsibilities for training others, adhering to documented procedures, and fostering a positive team environment. Additionally, the welder will perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment and maintain good housekeeping standards. The role requires welding all products within the business unit with limited supervision and performing any additional tasks as requested by the Team Leader.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years welding experience.
  • Able to read and work with blueprints, fixtures, and tape measures.
  • Must be certified in unlimited thickness and know how to run a torch to fab parts.
  • Should be able to lift over 70 pounds approximately 50% of the time.
  • When necessary, will be required to regulate manual welding.

Responsibilities

  • Practice safe working habits and follow safety policy, procedures and Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
  • Ability to work towards continuous improvement of product quality
  • Perform all position welding on a diversified line of structures following prescribed procedures Exchanging from .35 to .45 wire instantly, changing from 20 gauge steel to 2” thick steel
  • Need to be able to position fabricated components in fitup jigs and fixtures and use turning rigs when necessary
  • Responsible for high quality of end product and good safety habits
  • Responsible for the safety and training of others
  • Responsible for compliance with all documented procedures and employee handbook
  • Responsible for the quality and quantity of the finished product
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining a working team environment
  • Responsible for maintaining good housekeeping
  • Responsible for performing routine Preventative Maintenance on associated equipment
  • Responsible for safety, quality, and production with limited supervision
  • Able and required to weld all products within the business unit
  • Any additional tasks as requested by the Team Leader
