This position is responsible for performing a variety of duties to support the machine/repair function. The welder will coordinate work within the department, as well as with other departments, report pertinent information to the immediate supervisor, and respond to inquiries or requests for information. The role involves using MIG, stick electrode, and brazing welding processes, laying out, positioning, aligning, and fitting components together, and tack welding parts to secure them in position for welding. Additionally, the welder will repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts, which may include cutting, grinding, or using a carbon arc or oxy-acetylene torch. Reading blueprints or following verbal instructions for repairs and fabrication is also a key part of the role. The position operates on a weekend shift, working 12-hour shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with pay for 40 hours.
