About The Position

The Welder performs welding tasks to repair and maintain containers, working safely on- and off-site. The role also assists maintenance personnel when required, supports field and shop welding repairs and fabrication, documents projects and time, requests parts and supplies, and maintains equipment, vehicles, and tools.

Requirements

Pass the company welding test.
Demonstrate welding aptitude and an understanding of metal welding theory and practices.
Be able to obtain any welding certificates needed to perform certain tasks or projects.
Be familiar with shop equipment such as drill presses, cranes, grinders, and saws.
Pass a pulmonary function test if required by the work assignment.
Pass pulmonary function and respirator fit tests.
Hold a valid Class C driver’s license and have a safe driving record for the last three years.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of maintenance welding experience, including use of arc, MIG, and stick welders, a plasma cutter, and acetylene equipment.
Aluminum welding experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Forklift experience.

Responsibilities

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Assist with weld repairs and asset fabrication on and off site.
Assist with designing, fabricating, and repairing metal.
Document repair and fabrication projects and track time in accordance with department procedures.
Request parts and supplies for assigned jobs.
Assist with field and shop maintenance weld repairs and fabrication.
Comply with company safety policies and attend mandatory monthly safety meetings.
Immediately report safety violations and correct unsafe acts or conditions.
Properly maintain equipment, including service trucks and trailers, safety equipment, and tools.
Perform other duties as assigned.
