About The Position

Wheeler Machinery Co. is seeking a full-time Welder for its Salt Lake City, Utah location. The position involves welding and fabricating a variety of metals, from sheet metal to heavy plate, and interpreting blueprints and build instructions. The Welder is expected to produce high-quality work while meeting or exceeding estimated time requirements, maintain a strong focus on safety, work collaboratively with the team, and contribute to continuous improvement in quality and productivity.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate safe work practices and promote safety improvements within the team.
Train a teachable employee in needed areas.
Collaborate with the manager and team leader to solve problems and provide effective solutions.
Read blueprints and identify markings.
Perform horizontal and vertical welding with 1/16 100 series wire.
Read inside and outside micrometers.
Set up and weld a series of bores.
Fabricate from prints and complete weld projects.
TIG weld in the flat position on steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
Locate specifications from SIS.
Order parts.
Write service reports.
Perform precision measuring.
Perform other duties as assigned.
