About The Position

This position requires a skilled welder to perform various welding tasks according to company standards. The role involves operating welding equipment, repairing welds, preparing materials, and maintaining a safe work environment. The welder will also be responsible for interpreting technical documents and may be required to train others.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 6 months prior MIG welding experience or have completed a MIG company approved welding program
• Must be able to work independently
• Demonstrates shop math skills
• Can interpret blueprints, specifications, production layouts, technical drawings, work orders, instructions, etc.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate a high degree of tact and respect towards others.
• Must be able to lift 40-50 pounds
• Must be able to bend, pull and push to inspect units.
• Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.

Nice To Haves

• Certification preferred, not required
• Train others if required
• Previous work-related experience and/or any vocational training, preferred

Responsibilities

• Satisfactorily complete company approved work sample demonstrating expertise for welding according to company standards.
• Operate manual and automated welding units and equipment by depositing metal from electrode to work piece and joins edges of work piece.
• Maintain length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead.
• Repair improperly welded pieces and fill holes.
• Position and clamp work pieces together or assemble them in a fixture.
• Tack assemblies together.
• May change hoses, fittings, air valves, suspension parts, etc.
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follow standard safety practices and regulations.
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as required/assigned.
