About The Position

ANDRITZ is seeking an experienced Welder to join its team in Eugene, Oregon. The position performs MIG, flux-core, and stick welding on carbon and stainless steel components using blueprints and fitter layouts. The role also involves preparing parts and equipment, making process adjustments, cutting and machining materials, and following quality standards and safe work practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of welding experience.
• Experience with MIG, flux-core, stick, pulse arc, stitch pattern, and tack welding.
• Experience welding carbon steel and stainless steel.
• Ability to read and interpret prints.
• Ability to accurately use a tape measure.
• Basic shop math skills, including fractions, decimals, and basic geometry.
• Knowledge of personal protective equipment and safe manufacturing practices.

Nice To Haves

• Welding classes, certification, or trade school training.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG/GMAW, flux-core/FCAW, and stick/SMAW welding.
• Weld carbon steel and stainless steel in in-position and out-of-position applications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, prints, and fitter layouts.
• Set up components and equipment for welding.
• Adjust amperage, current, and gas flow based on the material and welding process.
• Perform oxy/acetylene and plasma cutting.
• Prepare parts, drill holes, deburr material, and operate equipment such as plate shears and Ironworkers.
• Follow quality standards and safe work practices.
