About The Position

Finning is looking for a temporary Welder to perform various welding duties in the field at the Imperial Oil Kearl site. This role is ideal for a safety-conscious, self-motivated, and detail-oriented individual with Journeyperson Welding certification and a valid driver's license.

Requirements

Journeyperson Welder Technician certification
Certified in Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)
Valid class 5 driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract
Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
Ability to work well under pressure and without supervision
Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
Ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug, Alcohol and fitness testing)

Responsibilities

Weld and repair Caterpillar equipment
Ensure jobs are planned, organized and all required parts and tooling are accessible
Minimize downtime and maintain production requirements as scheduled
Examine and diagnose machine defects, repair damage and cracks when necessary
Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment
Maintain safe work practices
Assist in training, directing and development of team members on the job
Other work assigned as required
