About The Position

Finning Canada is seeking two Journeyperson Welders for their busy Regina shop to work an afternoon shift (3 PM - 1 AM). This role involves maintaining and repairing Caterpillar Construction Equipment, Mining Equipment, and Expanded Mining Equipment, including component rebuilds and repairs, and some manufacturing. The position requires performing routine maintenance, occasional work at heights and in confined spaces, and frequent physical activity such as bending, squatting, climbing, and lifting up to 45 pounds. Responsibilities also include completing technical documentation, interacting with customers and team members, and assisting the Service Supervisor and Leadhand.

Requirements

• Journeyperson Welder Ticket with Interprovincial Certification
• Valid driver’s license
• Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
• Strong welding aptitude: vertical, flat, and overhead test for both SMAW and FCAW
• Ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator

Nice To Haves

• Machining experience is beneficial
• Repair welding would be considered an asset
• Strong line boring experience will be considered an asset

Responsibilities

• Component rebuild and repair
• Some Manufacturing
• Perform routine maintenance work
• Occasional work at heights and confined spaces
• Frequent bending, squatting, climbing, and lifting/pushing of up to 45 pounds without assistance
• Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
• Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team
• Work with the Service Supervisor and Leadhand on various tasks as required
