About The Position
Perform journeyman-level welding, fabrication, and mechanical work in the repair, maintenance, and rebuilding of City-owned vehicles and equipment.
Requirements
- High school graduation or GED certification.
- Completion of a welding program at a vocational or technical school.
- At least three years of experience as a welder, or an acceptable combination of education, experience, and training.
- Willingness to work weekends, holidays, nights, and extended hours during emergencies, at times under adverse weather conditions.
- Possess hand tools up to 1 inch in size suitable for repairing light and heavy automotive and construction equipment.
- Possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days of hire, a valid Class B commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement.
Nice To Haves
- American Welding Society GMAW D1.1 certification.
