About The Position

This is a permanent, 2nd shift position for a Welder. The base pay starts at $19.92 - $22.60 per hour, with an additional $1.50 shift differential. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 3:00 pm to 12:00 am. The role involves various welding and manufacturing tasks, requiring adherence to safety rules, proper operation of equipment, and quality control.

Requirements

Associates degree or equivalent from a 2-year College or technical school; or (1) to three (3) years working experience in welding; or equivalent combination of education and experience as a welder/fitter in the manufacturing industry
Read blueprints and drawings
Read and comprehend documents including but not limited to policy manuals, safety rules/programs, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and simple correspondence
Ability to communicate information effectively one-on-one and in small group situations and settings is required
Perform general mathematic calculations including but not limited to addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, percentages, and division.
Required to use power hand tools
Required to drive a forklift
Ability to work effectively to meet deadlines
Read different measuring devices (i.e. tape measure, protractor, micrometer)
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
Must be at least 18 years of age to apply

Responsibilities

Coordination of welder settings, gun speed/travel and gas flow with the observed condition of bead
Reading a tape measure and blueprints to shop standard
Deciding when adjustment or gun manipulation needs to be altered
Deciding how much and what repairs to make for pin holes and burn-through caused by an auto welder
Training and teaching proper welding procedures in accordance with manufacturing job procedures
Operating overhead crane and other lifting equipment
Holding beads to specified shapes, sizes, and penetrations while maintaining the quality of the product
Keeping numerical and alphabetical sequences correct
Maintaining continuous improvement practices in the work area
May be assigned other projects and duties as designated by Team Leader
