About The Position

AGCO is seeking a talented Welder / Engineering Technician to join our Engineering Department. This role is ideal for a skilled welder who is interested in cross‑training into additional manufacturing disciplines and supporting a flexible, team‑based engineering and prototype environment. You will play a key role in building, modifying, and supporting prototype and low‑volume components while providing coverage across manufacturing processes as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of welding experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or fabrication environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with strong foundational technical skills relevant to welding and fabrication.
  • Interest in learning and cross‑training in additional manufacturing processes such as waterjet operation, press brake operation, and machining; prior experience in these areas is a plus but not required.
  • Proficiency in O365 tools (Outlook, Excel, Teams) for communication, documentation, and collaboration across teams.
  • Strong communication and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with engineers, technicians, and other departments.
  • Experience with CREO or similar CAD programs, as well as SAP for documentation, part tracking, or workflow support.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in waterjet operation, press brake operation, and machining is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high‑quality welding and fabrication to support engineering builds, prototypes, and product development activities.
  • Set up and operate welding fixtures to ensure accurate alignment and secure positioning of components during assembly.
  • Review and interpret engineering prints, models, and technical drawings to ensure precise execution of design specifications.
  • Locate and position parts accurately based on engineering requirements, ensuring proper fit, orientation, and weld readiness.
  • Cross‑train and support additional manufacturing operations such as waterjet cutting, press brake forming, and basic machining to provide coverage during vacations or peak workload periods.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to build, modify, and test components, ensuring quality, functionality, and continuous improvement.
