The Associate II, Welder will weld and assemble different pieces by using hand held welding equipment such as hand tools, clamps, jigs, and fixtures; utilize different materials (plate steel, sheet steel, structural steel, and tubing). They will prepare and complete work on materials by welding, cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal. The role involves testing and inspecting welded components to ensure they meet set specifications before moving to the next department. The Welder will work from different specifications and shop orders, utilize ruler, square, templates, and gauges to take and read measurements, and operate cranes, hoists, and lift tables. Additionally, the position requires reporting damages on machines and equipment, maintaining equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety, and reporting all unsafe conditions to management. The role also includes monitoring and controlling the robotic welding process, operating robotic welding equipment, performing visual inspection of weld quality, programming robotic welding systems, providing work reports/feedback to supervisors or engineering teams, and setting up/preparing robotic welding equipment for operation. Troubleshooting and resolving potential technical issues is also part of the responsibilities. Requirements

  • 1+ year of robotic welding experience required
  • Basic knowledge of MIG welding, handheld plasma machines and cutting torches using cutting steel, acetylene and other cutting methods
  • Basic knowledge of welding techniques, material characteristics, and structural fundamentals
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit up
  • Ability to use hand to finger, handle, or feel
  • Ability to climb or balance
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, or crawl
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to talk or hear
