About The Position
Responsible for laying out and welding structural steel in order to build metal structures.
Requirements
- Read and understand schematics and blueprints
- Ability to read basic blueprints and weld symbols
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide (Lbs., Ft. Inch.)
- Operating Vehicles, Mechanical Devices or Equipment
- Previous professional welding experience
- Fundamental understanding of various weld processes and welding machinery
- Ability to read basic blueprints and weld symbols
- Ability to comfortably lift 50 pounds repeatedly and overhead
Nice To Haves
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred
Responsibilities
- Welds and cuts black carbon and galvanized steel, interprets blueprints
- Ability to operate hand tools, grinders, etc
- Ability to operate and/or willingness to learn operation of basic shop machinery
- Ensure product is manufactured according to print
- Must keep area neat and clean in accordance with 6S leadership and standards/goals
- Adheres and comply with all company safety requirements
