About The Position

The Production Welder will perform routine hand-welding or robotic welding on a repetitive and non-repetitive nature on standard and near-standard assemblies. De-burr, grind, and fit components prior to welding. Grind and polish finished elements as required. Block jig or position parts prior to welding. Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 6 months of prior welding experience OR a technical diploma or certification in welding from an accredited institution.
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of 1 years of weld experience in industrial manufacturing environment.
• Minimum of 1 years of experience working with basic shop math and welding symbols.
• Ability to read written instructions and comprehend verbal instructions.
• Ability to read and understand formal, informal drawings, and/or engineering drawings.
• Ability to read and follow standard work.
• Ability to use good judgment and problem-solving skills to make informed decisions.
• Basic computer knowledge of Windows based operating systems and programs.
• Ability to use measuring tape, and variable gauges, such as calipers.
• Ability to change tooling/tooling parameters.
• Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to use a crane once fully trained to lift items.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Repetitive lifting, bending, and squatting is inherent to this position.
• Ability to wear required PPE for the role including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes, and protective arm and hand coverings.

Responsibilities

• Perform work from manufacturing information, bills of material, written and/or oral instructions.
• Utilize manufacturing information, determine necessary parts/inventory, jigs/fixtures, and obtain materials from stock areas.
• Complete necessary preparation work such as wiping, degreasing, de-burring, or grinding of components.
• Pick up and place scrap in appropriate containers. Documentation/record keeping may be required.
• Operate spot welders, arc welders, plasma TIG welder, MIG welder, cutting torch, power grinder, power sanders, hand-tools, bandsaws, drills, temporary fixturing devices, jigs and fixtures, and other metal-fabrication equipment as directed.
• Be responsible for maintenance of equipment such as dressing of welding electrodes, oiling/greasing, machine settings, changing of tooling, and minor adjustments may be necessary. Complete necessary maintenance check sheets and inform Supervisor and / or Maintenance personnel of any problems.
• Maintain equipment and perform housekeeping duties as necessary.
• Adheres to all environmental, health, safety rules and regulations, and work instructions including the use of ventilation equipment during welding operation and the use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Assist team in achieving plant and department goals by flexing when needed.
• Assist with on-the-job training and continuous improvement.

• General knowledge of Eaton Quality Management System (EQMS).
• Perform other duties as required.
