About The Position

Meeco Sullivan, with the addition of Wahoo Docks and Ravens Marine, has over 200 years of experience in manufacturing high-quality steel, timber, and aluminum dock systems. With four manufacturing facilities, the company possesses significant production capacity and expertise in galvanized steel, timber, and aluminum. This role is based in Dahlonega, GA, and involves MIG welding aluminum parts and assembling dock structures. The primary goal is to complete each job safely, accurately, cleanly, and in a timely manner, ensuring it passes quality control inspection.

Requirements

Ability to MIG weld aluminum parts and assemble dock structures.
Ability to create quality welds according to blueprints (weld symbols).
Ability to inspect welds for accuracy.
Ability to prepare product to be welded by grinding, drilling, milling, tapping, and cutting aluminum parts.
Ability to change wire, welding, as needed.
Responsible for the proper packaging, identifying, and moving of all finished products to the proper location.
Ensure all equipment is properly set up and used in a safe manner and that all safety devices are in use.
Ability to operate forklift, if trained.
Performs first piece inspections as well as all subsequent inspections as required by Wahoo Docks standards.
Ability to prepare work by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists, gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
Ability to position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
Ability to assemble components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies.
Ability to verify specifications by measuring completed component.
Ability to resolve assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
Ability to keep equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
Observes all safety rules and regulations.
Must act safely and be responsible for the safety of others around the work area.
Following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
Ability to maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Ability to maintain supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
Ability to conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
Ability to document actions by completing production and quality forms.
Good mathematical ability.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Ability to operate precision measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, protractors, and tape measures.
Regular heavy lifting for assembly and repair.
Bending, lifting, and pushing up to 70 pounds.

Nice To Haves

At least 4-5 years of experience working with MIG and TIG welding with aluminum.

Responsibilities

Perform MIG welding on aluminum parts according to blueprints, including understanding and applying weld symbols.
