About The Position

With minimal supervision, performs standard welding functions requiring interpretation of blueprints and the use of basic measuring tools. This role involves reading blueprints and drawings, taking or reading measurements to weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead). The welder will determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements, set up components for welding according to specifications, and operate angle grinders to prepare parts for welding. Quality and specification adherence are crucial, requiring the use of calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and rulers. The position also includes repairing and maintaining equipment, machinery, and other components, testing and inspecting welded surfaces, and following all safety protocols and standards to work in a safe and efficient manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a welder.
  • Minimum one years’ experience in manufacturing GTAW (TIG welding) preferred or minimum 6-month vocational training.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as blueprints.
  • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective gear (clothing, face-shield, gloves, etc..)
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to use shop tools.
  • Understanding welding fixtures.
  • Must be able to use measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers and height gauge.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum one years’ experience in manufacturing GTAW (TIG welding) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
  • Ensure quality and specification which requires use of calipers, micrometers and height gauge, rulers etc. and clamp pieces.
  • Repair and maintain equipment, machinery, and other components without compromising safety.
  • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws and make necessary adjustments.
  • Follow all safety protocols and standards. Work in a safe and efficient manner.
