Welder

Behlen Mfg Co.Baker City, OR
Onsite

About The Position

This position involves performing welding operations on livestock equipment products using appropriate jigs. The welder will be responsible for setting up machines according to material requirements, maintaining machines, and performing other necessary operations. This role requires the ability to work towards continuous improvement of product quality and ISO 9001-2000 standards, and to collaborate effectively with team members. The job demands quick and repeated adjustments to material positioning and machine controls, good vision for quality and safety, and continuous gripping and grasping. Significant trunk strength is needed to support the body while standing in a stooped position for the majority of the shift. The role involves frequent lifting of approximately 75 pounds, with the remaining time spent lifting materials of varying weights and lengths (6 inches to over 18 feet). Lifting may involve twisting, bending, stooping, squatting, or crouching, and can occur at various levels from knees to above the shoulders, often overhead. Static strength and multilimb coordination are essential for lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying objects. Crouching and standing on cement for the entire shift are required. A full range of motion is necessary for safe job performance, and the ability to wear a PAPR respirator system with annual PFT testing is mandatory.
