About The Position

BlueScope is seeking skilled and detail-oriented individuals to join their team as Welders. This role involves fabricating and repairing metal to create high-quality components. The company welcomes candidates of all backgrounds, whether experienced or eager to learn, to contribute their strengths to the team. The position offers a $3000 sign-on bonus, with $1500 paid at 90 days and $1500 at the one-year mark. The pay rate is $27.56 per hour, plus a $2/hour shift differential for the night shift. Working hours are Sunday night to Friday morning from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, with some overtime required.

Responsibilities

Operate and Shape: Use machines to cut, punch, bend, weld, or shape materials into specified components to meet current demands.
Prepare and Set Up: Set up machines and confirm specifications using drawings, blueprints, tablets, or other tools.
Lift and Position Materials: Safely use lifting devices, such as cranes and forklifts, to position materials or parts as needed.
Ensure Quality: Utilize measuring tools and processes to perform inspections before, during, and after production, ensuring materials meet exact specifications.
Contribute to Improvement: Actively participate in continuous improvement and corrective action activities.
Maintain and Organize: Keep track of material inventory, perform machine maintenance, and support housekeeping and organizational standards, such as 5-S practices.
