About The Position

The Welder II is responsible for producing quality weldments according to blueprints, weld procedures, work instructions, and production requirements. This position works with limited supervision and performs more complex welding and fabrication tasks while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards. We are looking for a Welder II for 3rd Shift.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Production Welding
  • 2+ years of experience in Fitting/building and fabrication
  • Reliability - Maintains dependable attendance and punctuality
  • Safety - Follows all safety procedures and PPE requirements
  • Works effectively with Welders, Fitters, Leads, and Supervisors
  • Meets established production and labor-hour expectations
  • Produces welds that meet specifications and minimizes rework
  • Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols
  • Ability to recognize and correct common weld defects
  • Ability to use basic measuring tools
  • Must be able to see and hear.

Nice To Haves

  • Welding certifications (AWS or equivalent) preferred
  • Ability to obtain or maintain forklift and overhead crane certification

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG/FCAW and other assigned welding processes
  • Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and work instructions
  • Set up welding equipment, select proper settings, wire, gas, and consumables
  • Complete tack-up, fit-up, welding, grinding, and finishing operations
  • Inspect welds for quality, size, appearance, and defects
  • Identify and correct common welding problems
  • Use measuring tools and basic inspection equipment
  • Meet established production, quality, and labor-hour expectations
  • Safely operate cranes, hoists, forklifts, and other equipment when trained and authorized
  • Follow all safety, PPE, hot-work, 6S, and material-handling requirements
  • Complete required production and quality documentation
  • Assist in training less-experienced welders when requested
  • Report safety, quality, material, and equipment issues to supervision
  • Support continuous improvement and other duties as assigned
  • Individuals may perform other duties as assigned, including work in other functional areas to cover absences or relief, to equalize peak work periods or otherwise to balance the workload.
