About The Position

VMG is seeking an experienced Welder to support large-scale commercial HVAC and plumbing construction projects. This role is responsible for performing high-quality welding and fabrication work in accordance with project specifications, safety standards, and applicable codes.

Requirements

2+ years of welding experience in commercial construction (HVAC or plumbing preferred)
Proficiency in welding processes such as Stick (SMAW), MIG (GMAW), and/or TIG (GTAW)
Ability to read and understand construction drawings and welding symbols
Knowledge of welding safety practices and procedures
Experience working with piping systems is strongly preferred
Ability to work in confined spaces, on ladders, and at heights
Ability to lift: Up to 10 lbs regularly Up to 50 lbs frequently Over 75 lbs occasionally with assistance
Willingness to travel to job sites throughout the DMV area

Nice To Haves

Welding certifications (AWS, ASME, or equivalent)
Experience with commercial HVAC piping or plumbing systems
Familiarity with local building and safety codes

Responsibilities

Perform welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and other materials used in HVAC and plumbing systems
Fabricate, assemble, and install piping components per project drawings and specifications
Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and isometric drawings
Ensure welds meet quality standards and pass inspections
Maintain compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and jobsite requirements
Inspect welds and make necessary repairs or adjustments
Collaborate with foremen, superintendents, and field crews to meet project schedules
